Kelly Khumalo Implicated as the Person Who Ordered Senzo Meyiwa’s Assassination
In a shocking twist, South African musician Kelly Khumalo has been implicated as the person who orchestrated Senzo Meyiwa’s assassination.
The lead investigator in the Senzo Meyiwa murder case, Brigadier Bongani Ginida, unveiled this shocking revelation during cross-examination at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.
The ‘Ngathwala Ngaye’ singer was Senzo Meyiwa’s girlfriend at the time of his death in 2014. He was shot and killed at Kelly Khumalo’s house in Vosloorus.
Kelly Khumalo Implicated in Senzo Meyiwa’s Murder
According to the affidavit, accused 1 and 2 in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Muzi Sibiya and Bongani Ntanzi, have implicated Kelly Khumalo as the person who ordered the killing of Senzo Meyiwa.
Kelly Khumalo is said to have orchestrated the assassination of her then-boyfriend and baby daddy Senzo Meyiwa.
SABC reporter Chriselda Lewis confirmed this latest revelation on X.
“A second accused in the #SenzoMeyiwa trial has implicated Kelly Khumalo in as the person who ordered and paid for the killing of the soccer star. This is contained in lead investigator Brigadier Bongani Gininda’s affidavit,” SABC reporter Chriselda Lewis revealed.
The affidavit reveals cellphone linkages between Kelly Khumalo and accused 3 and 5. Additionally, communication records between Kelly Khumalo and her sister, Zandile, show that she wanted to get rid of Senzo Meyiwa.
“Communication records between her (Kelly Khumalo) and her sister show that as early as 2013, she wanted to get rid of the deceased as she puts it. It is abundantly clear that she hated him and wanted to get rid of him. She further states that she regrets not succeeding to get rid of him before. Taking all of this into account, an inference can be drawn she meant killing him,” reads part of the affidavit which is dated November 2020.
Furthermore, investigators discovered a picture of money on Carlos Mncube’s phone, which was also found on Kelly Khumalo’s phone.

This shocking revelation comes a day after Brigadier Bongani Gininda revealed in court that the late South African footballer Senzo Meyiwa was assassinated.

He revealed that the investigation’s evidence indicates a group of five individuals orchestrated a premeditated assassination of Senzo Meyiwa. He emphasized that the suspects were recognized hitmen who had a reputation for engaging in contract killings during the KwaZulu-Natal taxi wars.
