Keletso Makgalwa’s Mamelodi Sundowns future

Following months of speculation on Keletso Makgalwa’s future, Mamelodi Sundowns have finally decided on the future of the attacker.

Makgalwa returned to Sundowns at the end of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership campaign. This was after spending the second round of the last season on loan with Motsepe Foundation Championship side All Stars.

The pacey winger started the 2022/23 season in the colours of TS Galaxy. However, he was let go in December 2022 before the conclusion of his loan spell.

Makgalwa, who has been training with the Downs reserve side, is seemingly not in the plans of Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena.

This publication last week reported that Makgalwa was pushing for a permanent move away from Sundowns to seek game time.

KELETSO MAKGALWA HANDED HIS CLEARANCE

His agent Ntobatsi Masegela has confirmed that Makgalwa has been handed his clearance and he’s free to join any club.

“We managed to reach an amicable decision with Mamelodi Sundowns on the future of Keletso Makgalwa,” Ntobatsi told FARPost.

“This is in the best interest of the player to get released and look for more game time elsewhere.

“So we were successful in getting his wish, all the papers were signed on Thursday before the transfer window closed.

“All that’s left is to get him a team which I believe will be done soon. He’s a quality and he’s been working very hard.”

Amongst players who have been released by Sundowns in the off-season are Lesedi Kapinga, Haashim Domingo, Andile Jali, Surprise Ralani, Thabiso Kutumela, and Cassius Mailula.

Meanwhile, Masandawana have signed Lucas Ribeiro, Thapelo Maseko, Bathusi Aubaas, Junior Mendieta and Lesiba Nku.

It remains to be seen which club Makgalwa will join in the near future as he looks to bring his career back on track.
