As Kaizer Chiefs prepare to face SuperSport United on Sunday, defender Erick Mathoho says he does not look at the log table.

“I don’t look at the table. I have been looking at their players, who their on-form guys are, and who I will need to be giving attention to. We know the game will be tough, but their current form and results don’t concern me,” Mathoho was quoted on the club website.

For the benefit of those who also haven’t glanced at the DStv Premiership standings lately, the Glamour Boys are still battling their way into finding consistency and are currently in ninth place and outside the Top 8 spot.

The target, one would assume, is to close the gap on both SSU and log Mamelodi Sundowns, who are in CAF action this weekend.

“We are ready to fight. We know SuperSport have given us problems in the past, but we are ready for them this time around,” said the centre back nicknamed Tower.

Chiefs have just come off an emphatic 4-0 win over Chippa United and will be hoping to carry that momentum into their visit to the Tshwane outfit.
