Ngezana sale is a big blow for Chiefs
Sure, the club’s hierarchy will be happy that the 25-year-old is off to Romania and will feature in the UEFA Conference League next term. It’s a stamp of approval for the quality of player Chiefs are recruiting then moving on. However, it puts the manager in a bit of a sticky situation.
Ngezana was one of the most improved players at Chiefs last season, especially in te second half of the campaign. He shrugged off a few high-profile errors in the first few months and grew from strength to strength. He became indispensable in the backline, capable of playing at right back but specialising in the heart of defence.

Chiefs have added quality defenders in the shape of Given Msimango and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, but now with Ngezana leaving the club they still lack quality in depth. It also means they can’t emulate Pep Guardiola with four central defenders on the pitch at all times, something we touched on recently.
