Kaizer Chiefs fans have their eyes on the news more than ever right now, the big squad overhaul is finally underway at Amakhosi.

So the big rebuilding project includes 17 players linked with a possible move to Naturena, one of these latest names is the South Sudanese winger Valentino Yuel.

According to reports, the 27-year-old was targeted by Chiefs’ former coach Stuart Baxter before his sudden departure. The Soweto giants are thought to be keen on continuing to pursue the Newcastle Jets winger, who delivered six goals and four assists in 21 games this term.

“Indications are that Valentino Yuel, a South-Sudanese winger who is in the final month of his expiring contract with Newcastle Jets in the Australia A-League, has been offered to the Soweto giants as an option to beef up their frontline,” Soccer Laduma reported in their latest edition.

The outlet continued: “Soccer Laduma has been led to believe that Yuel was a name that was already put forward by previous coach Stuart Baxter and it had looked as though the player would be returning for further assessments… but with the Englishman sacked, there have been delays.

“Yuel, the Siya crew understands, will be a free agent on 1 July,” the report concluded.

Meanwhile, an Australian website has confirmed that Yuel is on his way out of the Jets.

“Yuel joined in 2020 and played 47 times for the side.  He scored 10 times for Jets over his two season stay.

At present Yuel has been linked with another A-League club, with 7News Adelaide reporting that the player is in talks with Adelaide United,” the report said.
