Itumeleng Khune, the goalkeeper for Kaizer Chiefs, is reportedly in line for a shocking move to another PSL team!
After being promoted to the Chiefs first team in 2004, Khune has remained a member of just one club.
Should Khune decide to leave Chiefs, he will be free to transfer, and as of right now, Soccer-Laduma reports that Sekhukhune United has expressed surprising interest in him!
“The Siya crew has been informed that Sekhukhune United are watching proceedings down Naturena way with keen interest and have made it known that should the Glamour Boys (Chiefs) not renew his (Khune) contract, they would break the bank to bring him to their headquarters.” Wrote the publication.
Khune has been a mainstay for Chiefs for a long time, starting as their number one goalkeeper for more than ten years. But the 36-year-old has struggled with injuries and poor form in recent years, which has led to his dismissal.
The team has frequently found itself relying on their seasoned goalie repeatedly since they have been unable to secure a regular goalkeeper to finally solidify that position.

Before the Chiefs decided to give Brandon Petersen an opportunity to develop in the starting jersey this season, that was the situation at the end of the previous campaign. Due to a mix of bad performance and mental health concerns, the former Bidvest Wits star was once again the go-to man on the sidelines at the club, with Khune.
However, the former long-standing Bafana Bafana number one did not perform as expected this time around. To make matters worse, the club recently suspended him and took away his captain’s armband for behavior-related reasons.
After making a spectacular return to the Carling All Stars XI with a Man of the Match performance, the nation was given another look at what a formidable goalie he still is.
Khune may need to look for a new team next season given that the Chiefs announced at the beginning of the season that he would be retiring and that he isn’t prepared to do so.
