Jonathan Bailey takes acting break to focus on charity work

Jonathan Bailey, the star of Wicked and Bridgerton, has announced he will take a break from acting next year to focus on his charity work.

The 37-year-old British actor has been working nonstop for the past three years.

JONATHAN BAILEY TAKES A BREAK

He starred in major projects such as Jurassic World: Rebirth and Fellow Travellers. Now, he wants to channel his energy into ‘The Shameless Fund’.

This is a charity he founded to support the LGBTQ+ community, according to E News.

Jonathan Bailey shared his plans in an interview with British GQ. “I’ve been working solidly for about three years now, which has been amazing and mind-blowing.

But with everything happening in the world right now, I’m going to stop acting for a bit next year and just focus on The Shameless Fund.”

JONATHAN BAILEY AND CHARITY WORK

The charity works by partnering with global brands to raise money for non-profit organisations that support LGBTQ+ causes.

Jonathan Bailey highlighted a shocking statistic: out of every R 2,000 raised in the UK, only 20 cents actually go to the LGBTQ+ community.

“You really have to dig to find solutions,” he said. “I genuinely think The Shameless Fund is exactly that.”

DOING THE WORK

Over the coming months, Bailey will concentrate on building the charity’s team to ensure it runs smoothly.

He also emphasises the importance of creativity and joy in the fund’s work. “When we’re working on The Shameless Fund, the colour pink is so important,” he explained.

“It’s an expression of joy and happiness, and it’s incredibly flattering—a reason why I wore it so much during the Wicked press tour.”

The actor has also brought some big names on board, including his Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo and Scarlett Johansson, to promote the fund.

Scarlett recently shared a sultry photo sporting the charity’s signature pink glasses and has collaborated with Bailey on previous campaigns.

Jonathan Bailey’s move is inspiring. It’s a reminder that shifting focus from personal success to community support can have a real impact.
