What was meant to be just an unveiling of players and technical staff ahead of the upcoming season turned out to be an emotional affair at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga.
TS Galaxy president Tim Sukazi had more than just the club’s plans for the new season to share with fans and the media on Sunday afternoon.
Galaxy had issued an invite to members of the media and their supporters to an event where they were meant to present their staff to the players
The Rockets have made some exciting signings, including former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi as well as ex-Orlando Pirates midfielder Xola Mlambo.
Much to the cheering from the supporters, Sukazi, who turns 50 in December, unveiled more than just the signings.
“On 19 January 2021, to be exact, it was the first day I saw my own father, and this is not an easy story to tell,” said Sukazi as he introduced his biological dad (Mr Ntuli) to hundreds of people gathered at the stadium.
The former player agent was adopted by the Sukazi family. His adopted father passed away in June 2021, five months after Sukazi had discovered his biological father.
The story of Tim and his long-lost father is even more interesting because the latter is a huge fan of Galaxy and was a regular at Kameelrivier Stadium (where the club used to play their home games). That was way before he knew the club was owned by his son.
“Yeah, just to imagine that the old man used to come to Kamelrever to watch games, and he didn’t know that the person walking around was his son,” explained Sukazi.
“Myself as well; I never knew there was my biological father amongst the supporters, can you believe it? It happened many times, and it’s just one of those things,” he added.
“We just have to thank God and be grateful. I lost my (step) dad. So it is as if God wanted to find a way to replace my father for me, so I feel blessed.”
