University of Western Cape (UWC) moved to the top of the Hollywoodbets Super League log after the opening round of the 2023 season as they mercilessly ran a 9-1 riot over Coal City Wizards in Mpumalanga.
Kholosa Biyana opened the flood gates on her debut, while Fiona Ndlovu grabbed the first hat-trick of the season. Sibulelele Holweni netted a brace, as Khanya Xesi was also among the scorers on the day. The Wizards find themselves at the bottom of the log with no point and a heavy goal difference to overturn.
Royal AM were 2-0 winners against Ma-Indies Ladies in Giyani and they find themselves in second spot with three points, while the Limpopo side is second from bottom.
Boitumelo Rabale scored the only goal for the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, as they narrowly defeated Richmond United 1-0 in the capital to occupy sixth place with three points.
New girls on the block, TS Galaxy lost 1-0 to City Lads, while Copperbelt Ladies came from behind to register their first win in the league, a 2-1 victory against fellow rookies University of Pretoria. Karabo Selabe’s charges are placed fourth on the log with three points.
