Sources close to The South African indicate Mayo’s valuation to be approximately R15 Million or, rather, they’d be willing to listen to offers should they reach that threshold. If we’re talking those sorts of figures, perhaps Chiefs might be not be able to shop at this level. He’s just signed fresh terms with the Mother City side until June 2028, so he’ll cost a pretty penny. Smart business by City and John Comitis.

If Kaizer Chiefs shift their attentions elsewhere, they do have options. Ranga Chivaviro, fresh off a 17-goal season (all competitions) for relegated Marumo Gallants is believed to be meeting with Amakhosi officials this week to thrash out a deal. Their first choice however, is prolific Young Africans striker Fiston Mayele. How much will he cost though? Reported Sundowns interest in the player will only drive his price up.
