Marumo Gallants have found out which three teams they can potentially draw in the quarter-finals after their heroics in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The DStv Premiership strugglers have been one of the surprise stories in their maiden CAF inter-club group stage campaign.

On Sunday, Gallants came from two goals down to beat Saint Eloi Lupopo thanks to goals by  Sibusiso Sibeko, Range Chivaviro and Judas Moseamedi in the space of just five minutes in the second half.

The result saw them top Group A with 12 points ahead of USM Alger, who collected 11, with both teams qualifying for the quarters, where the group winners are drawn against the runners-up.

However, with teams from the same group unable to be drawn against each other, only three potential opponents are left for Gallants, namely: Rivers United (Group B), Pyramids (Group C) and Monastir (Group D).

The latter finished second behind Young Africans despite collecting an impressive 13 points in Group D, with only one defeat in the group stages, but behind the group leaders on goal difference after both beat each other 1-0.

Similarly, Pyramids also lost just one game in Group C and ended up level on 11 points behind leaders FAR Rabat, after losing the head-to-head record 2-1, with both sides winning their respective fixture.

In Group B, Rivers United were dethroned from the top spot by ASEC Mimosas after losing the direct clash on the final match round, which was their second defeat to end up three points behind the Ivorian side.

Gallants will now find out who they will be drawn against in Wednesday’s draw, which will take place in Cairo.
