Marumo Gallants Chairman Abram Sello has confirmed they won’t be selling Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Katlego Otladisa.

Ndlondlo, 27, has gone from watching from the stands with TTM to becoming the club’s attacking talisman over the past two seasons and has subsequently received interest from several DStv Premiership clubs.

AmaZulu were leading the race for the playmaker but Sello hinted they set an asking price that declared their intentions they want to keep hold of their most prized assets which included Katlego Otladisa, who is said to have been on Kaizer Chiefs’ radar.

“One of the first words I used when we started speaking is sustainability, we want to sustain our club, we want it to be consistent and you can’t just keep on changing players like this,” Sello tells iDiski Times.

“Yes, there’s been a high demand for these players, and clubs have offered us a lot to take this one and that one. But is it about money or about the passion for this football project?”

Sello admitted that football is a business when probed that every player has his price but said it’s a risky one to let go of players who’ve been crucial to the impressive displays that saw them finish as runners-up in the Nedbank Cup last season to qualify for the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup.

“Do you take the few millions [in transfer fees] and get relegated at the end of the season? You need to think with a sober mind at the end of the day,” he added.

“We kept them and we’re not willing to sell them right now, we want to make sure Marumo Gallants become consistent and maintain the flair which I spoke about and make sure these boys become stronger, they are still young – it doesn’t help we sell them and they go sit on the bench at the big clubs, let’s develop them.

“It’s not only about us but their talents, skills and South African football, no matter what their next club is, we have to make sure we’ve done quality work on them before they leave. And remember they have contracts, it’s basically three years…”
