Former Rhythm City actor ‘Pule’ Zamani Mbatha to star in The Black Door
Zamani Mbatha, famously known for being an International actress Nomzamo Mbatha has proved his talent in the acting industry. Many know him for his debut on-screen character playing Pule of etv’s Rhythm City. The actor is set to make yet another lead role in the South African Screens series called The Black Door.
About The Black Door
Zamani Mbatha has landed yet another lead role on Television in The Black Door. Mbatha will take on the role of Khaya, a young man who realises that his brother, a deacon, has a side hustle as a prostitute. Khaya then starts changing his life to follow his big brother’s ways and living a double life. The soapie is set to have some nudity and racy scenes and an age restriction of 16.
Helga Palmer from eTV has opened up about how viewers have asked for more locally produced content. The TV channel is giving what viewers want and asked production houses to think out of the box with their storylines. Blackbrain’s executive producer Mpumelelo Nhlapo will produce The Black Door.
The TV show is set to start airing on the 11th of April at 9:30 pm. Imbewu: The seed which currently holds that time slot will be pushed back to 9 pm. According to the executive producer of The Black Door for the research, they had to go in the streets and talk to commercial sex workers to find out how they lived and worked. The storyline will tell a story based on real-life stories.
Zamani Mbatha to take on lead role in The Black Door
Mbatha was in Rhythm City for a year until it was cancelled. The actor earned himself respect in the acting industry because he showed a lot of talent. After Rhythm City, the actor landed a lead role in Isiphendiselo alongside Scandal actor Robert Mpisi. Recently Zamani was in a movie called Induku where he played the lead actress’ brother, who she always protected. The actor has gained a lot of momentum because of his talent and looks as ladies would not mind seeing his abs on-screen again.
Mbatha has also managed to bag deals with brands in South Africa as a partner. He is a brand ambassador for Flying Fish, Shield deodorant and Cadbury. The actor has made a name for himself on his own and not because he comes from a famous family.
