Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane is leaving Black Leopards.
Leopards went down automatically to the amateur ranks alongside Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM), with two matches still to be played but is set to return to the second tier after buying the status of All-Stars.
The former Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic goalkeeper spent the last part of the campaign, fighting relegation with Lidoda Duvha after parting ways with Baroka FC.
The 34-year-old has played 12 league games and one in the Nedbank Cup for Leopards, admitting he is now on the hunt for a new club.
“Personally, it was a very successful season. For me, it was about going out to get game time and I went to a lower league obviously to get the necessary game time that I needed because I struggled with injuries after I left Bloemfontein Celtic,” Mabokgwane told iDiski Times.
“I needed to go back and showcase my talent and I did exactly that so, I’m looking forward to the new season. For the team unfortunately it was not a good thing that it was not the best of seasons but it happens.
“It’s part of football. I joined the team late and all the best to the team. As I said I needed a season to get game time, and I did exactly that. I’ll be leaving the team obviously and I’m wishing the team all the best.
“The future looks bright. I’m an experienced goalkeeper and looking forward to adding value to my next team, which you will find out about in the near future.
“There are teams that we are talking to my manager is the one who is dealing with all these things. For me now it’s off-season and I’m spending time with family.”
