Former Kaizer Chiefs academy product Ayanda Rorwana has signed for La Masia FC for the upcoming season.
La Masia recently secured promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship after winning the final of the ABC Motsepe League national playoffs which were held in Potchefstroom last month.
The side had won the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League ticket to represent the province at the national playoffs for a spot in the National First Division after edging African All-Stars 2-1 on aggregate in the provincial playoffs.
Rorwana joins the side as a free agent after he was released by Amakhosi last term alongside Sizwe Twala and Itumeleng Shopane.
The 24-year-old spent the 2019/20 season out loan at Swallows. He was part of the Maswaiswai’s squad that gained automatic promotion to the Premier Soccer League.
In the 2020/21 campaign, the midfielder joined Pretoria Callies on a short-term loan deal, where he managed to play nine games across all competitions.
Rorwana will be hoping to get his mojo back, although it remains to be seen if he can maintain that inspiration when it matters most as La Masia need him to do so.
Meanwhile, the Soweto-born footballer will also be expected to be a trusted lieutenant in the middle of the park for the South African football second-tier newcomers given his extensive experience.
