Ex-Sundowns attacker admits Kaizer Chiefs wanted him BUT…

Former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Keletso Makgalwa has admitted that Kaizer Chiefs were one of the teams interested in his services.

Makgalwa was on the books of Sekhukhune United where he really appeared to be enjoying his football.

He was tipped to join Amakhosi after they had shown interest in signing him but it was Simba SC of Tanzania who eventually signed him.

Speaking to FARPost, Makgalwa said while there were many local teams who came forward for his services, he decided to go to Tanzania.

He revealed that he actually did not reject Chiefs whom he admitted tabled a good offer, instead the Soweto giants came late.

KAIZER CHIEFS WERE INTERESTED IN MAKGALWA BUT CAME TOO LATE

“Yes, Chiefs were one of the teams that were interested [in my services],” said Makgalwa.

“It was a good offer from them, but I wanted to play elsewhere outside South Africa. That’s why I chose Simba SC. I didn’t really decline the offer.

“They came late, to be honest. I had a conversation with my agent [Ntobatsi Masegela] and Kaizer [Motaung Jr]. They were busy finalising their squad, and Simba came, you know. So, I was like let me just go to Simba.”

PLAYING FOR AMAKHOSI IS STILL A DREAM…

Makgalwa further revealed that he hasn’t lost hope of one day playing for Amakhosi, adding that he always wanted to play for them from the young age.

“It is still a dream for me because, as a young boy from Mokopane, it was one of my dreams to play for Kaizer Chiefs,” he continued.

“So, I think if that move comes, I will take it. But for now, I am focused on Simba, helping them to win the league and do well in the [CAF] Champions League,” concluded Makgalwa.
