Ertugral – Zwane Beat Riveiro, Tactically!

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral has insisted Arthur Zwane beat his Orlando Pirates’ counterpart Jose Riveiro tactically in the Soweto Derby.

Chiefs beat Pirates 1-0 on Saturday, thanks to Yusuf Maart’s wonder goal from his own half in the 74th minute.

The win saw Amakhosi overtake the Buccaneers on the log and climb into fourth place ahead of the FIFA World Cup break.

But it wasn’t just a lucky win, as many neutrals and experts believe Zwane outsmarted Riveiro on the tactical side of things – one of them being Ertugral.

“Kaizer Chiefs completely outplayed Pirates, tactically,” he wrote on social media.

“Great approach from Arthur to play with a “double 6” and a real “10” with the opposite runs to Kama Billiat.

“Keegan Dolly in the half space with a ”lop” side approach. In any build up, Pirates was pinned.”

The Turkish coach, who last worked as technical advisor to the Turkish FA, was in charge in 2001 when Chiefs won the then CAF Africa Cup Winners Cup (now the CAF Confederation Cup), making him the only coach to date to lift a continental trophy with the Glamour Boys.
