End of the road for Mayo and Du Preez?

Kaizer Chiefs could be set to part ways with Khanyisa Mayo and Ashley Du Preez at the end of the season, with both forwards enduring difficult campaigns in front of goal.

The duo have struggled for consistency, particularly in the final third, which has seen them fall down the pecking order in recent weeks.

Du Preez has featured in 12 matches across all competitions but is yet to open his scoring account this season, managing just a single assist.

The former Stellenbosch striker has come under increasing pressure from the Amakhosi faithful after missing several clear-cut chances.

Kaizer Chiefs yet to decide on Mayo

While the technical team has appreciated his (Du Preez) work rate, his lack of goals remains a major concern.

Mayo, meanwhile, showed early promise after scoring on his debut, but that goal has proven to be his only contribution in 12 appearances.

The forward, currently on loan from CR Belouizdad in Algeria, has also struggled with injuries that have disrupted his rhythm.

If Mayo fails to rediscover his scoring touch, it appears unlikely that Kaizer Chiefs will pursue a permanent deal.

With just 10 matches remaining in the season, the club faces key decisions regarding its attacking options. The recent form of Flávio Silva and Glody Lilepo, both of whom have found the back of the net, has only increased competition in the forward line.

As things stand, Mayo and Du Preez may find themselves on the outside looking in as Kaizer Chiefs prepare for a possible squad overhaul.

Which striker should Chiefs bring?
