Former Cape Town City defender Edmilson Dove has finally broken his silence after his Cape Town City exit, saying he would love to come back to the Premier Soccer League.

The Mozambican international left City at the beginning of the year after spending five years with the club and making 104 appearances in all competitions, scoring on five occasions.

It came as shock to many fans of the Citizens when the announcement of Dove leaving Cape Town City came because nobody was expecting it, but the Mozambican explained that he wanted to play and he doesn’t regret the decision.

“I am grateful to City for the opportunity they gave me, to the chairman who believed in me now it’s safe to say Cape Town is my home actually South Africa is my second home, “ Dove told iDiski Times.

“It didn’t come as a shock to me, leaving the club was something I thought of for some time. I wanted to play and it was difficult for me since I came back from the surgery and the team was doing well. Also, it’s good as a man to leave your father’s house and go have your own house.“

With so many teams reportedly interested in the left footer before, he confirmed that there is some interest from South Africa, as he also would love to come back to Premier Soccer League.

“Yes, there are teams interested, my agent is busy with that and he will see which one is good,” he continued.

“I would love to come back to PSL because it is one the best leagues in Africa. It has helped me to grow as a player and as man. The love I received there is unmatched. I’ve made so many friends there so definitely I would love to come back.”
