Done Deal: Barca & Bayern Agree Lewandowski Transfer

In the early hours of Saturday morning, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich have finally agreed on the transfer of superstar Robert Lewandowski.

The 33-year-old desperately wanted to join the Catalan giants but his club were initially unwilling to let go of their top goalscorer.

However, after weeks of pushing from Lewandowski and his agent, Bayern’s bosses gave in after Barcelona submitted three offers for the Poland international on Friday, as per Bild.

In the end, Bayern agreed to a fee of €45 million plus another €5 million in add-ons for the player, who only had one year left on his contract, the German publication report.

Lewandowski will reportedly sign a four-year deal and already join his new club on their US tour on Sunday. He leaves Bayern after eight successful years during which he scored 344 goals in 375 games.

The two-time FIFA Best Men’s Player won 19 trophies at Bayern and will now write his next chapter at Barcelona, who are signed Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen as free agents, while forking out around €60 million for Leeds United winger Raphinha.

Bayern, meanwhile, could now attempt a real push for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is understood to be desperate to leave Manchester United for a club that has could win the upcoming UEFA Champions League, with Bayern fitting the profile.
