Deliwe de Lange has resigned as a strategic advisor of MMC of Community Safety in Ekurhuleni Letlhogonolo Moseki.
De Lange is implicated in an alleged R191 million corruption deal involving deviations and potential abuse of supply chain management policies involving former National Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane.
On Tuesday, the member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Safety, Cllr Letlhogonolo Moseki accepted the resignation of Ms. Deliwe de Lange.
De Lange is currently under investigation by the National Prosecuting Authorities, AFU and Investigating Directorate (ID) for a matter relating to a contract to supply emergency warning equipment for the South African Police Service.
“We remain committed to reforming local government by appointing only ethical and competent officials that have proven their commitment to public service. I strongly commend Ms. de Lange for doing the honourable thing by tendering her resignation to give herself time and space to attend to her personal affairs.” Said MMC Moseki.
