Clayton Daniels has sent a warning to Stellenbosch ahead of their DStv Premiership game against Maritzburg United this weekend.

‘The Team of Choice’ is coming from a big 1-0 win in the KZN derby against Royal AM which lifted them further away from the relegation zone.

Daniels, who was Man of the Match in that game, said he knows how tough it is to face Stellies at home where the side that hasn’t lost a league game since December 2021.

But the KZN side will look to continue with their good head-to-head records against Stellenbosch, having not lost since Stellies were promoted from the GladAfrica Championship.

The 37-year-old knows the importance of this game as they probably need five points to survival relegation.

“Our preparations for the game against Stellenbosch away in Cape Town obviously we have to continue where we left off, I think we had a good result against Royal AM, a very spirited performance from the guys,” Daniels said ahead of the game.

“We had an off day, we had a recovery day we looking forward to another tough tough tough game away from home we looking forward to also getting maximum points.

“We playing away from home we know how they play with the speed upfront they have Van Rooyen and all those guys. We look forward to an exciting game, I just hope the guys will bring the ‘A-game as well, we gonna go for all three points.”

Stellenbosch FC will welcome Maritzburg United on Saturday at the Danie Craven Stadium.
