Da L.E.S and Maggz announce their new podcast

South African rappers Da L.E.S and Maggz have joined the growing number of celebrities launching podcasts.

The duo released the first episode on Tuesday, explaining that the podcast will give them a space to discuss everything from current affairs and sport to music and pop culture.

Speaking during the debut episode, Maggz said the idea was inspired by their strong opinions and desire to engage in open conversations that they normally keep off social media.

“A lot of people don’t know we are highly opinionated individuals. Obviously we don’t put it on socials. We decided to start a pod’, share our opinions and maybe people will like what we have to say,” he said.

He added that the show would not be limited to a single theme, promising listeners a mix of discussions and perspectives.

“It’s going to be a fun show. We’ll be doing all kinds of topics.”

The launch also marks a significant moment for Da L.E.S, who has been gradually returning to public life after suffering a stroke on his birthday on July 26, 2024.

The rapper previously revealed that he regained consciousness nearly a month after the medical emergency.

Reflecting on the life-changing experience, Da L.E.S spoke candidly about his journey toward recovery and the gratitude he feels for simply being alive.

“I’ve been gone. I’m glad I’m here. I had a stroke. I’m glad to be alive. Life has changed quite a lot. What’s most important is I’m here on earth,” he said.

He also admitted that the ordeal was frightening but said he remains focused on regaining his strength through rehabilitation and daily exercises.

“What happened to me was scary. I was out for about a month. All I can do is work towards getting better. I do rehab, and I do my exercises.”
