Cape Town Spurs have continued their overhaul ahead of the 2022/2023 Motsepe Foundation Championship season, announcing two more first-team recruits.
Morne Nel, the former SuperSport United prospect has signed a first-team contract with Spurs, after spending the latter half of last season with the club’s ABC Motsepe team.
It is a return of sorts for Nel, who had previously played for Ajax Cape Town. However, injuries throughout his stay at the club hampered the talented midfielders’ progress.

It has unfortunately been the story of Nel’s career, as it was also a similar dilemma that hampered his time in Tshwane.
Last year Nel, who came through the Old Mutual Academy before linking up with SuperSport, had looked to have signed a deal in Brazil, but after moving to South America, he was unable to obtain a work permit, and had to return to Mzansi.
Meanwhile, the club has also recruited former Highlands Park youth star, Kevin Etafia.

The son of goalkeeper Greg Etafia is a central defender, who captained the Highlands U19 team when they won the Bayhill Premier Cup in 2019. But his progress was halted when Highlands sold their franchise to TS Galaxy.
The affable 22-year-old had also spent time training with Cape Town City earlier this year.
Spurs have already confirmed the signings of Clayton Daniels, Nazeer Allie, Michael Morton. Leo Thethani, Alucius Wagaba, Lubeni Haukongo, Sithembiso Ngobe, Maurice Finck, and Boitumelo Radiopane, on loan from Orlando Pirates.
