SuperSport United have received an approach from Kaizer Chiefs with regards to the services of defender Luke Fleurs, iDiski Time can exclusively confirm.
In fact, Fleurs approached SuperSport in August to be sold to Chiefs, with Amakhosi having initially shown an interest in him.
Also Chiefs approached SuperSport in a swap deal to see Cole Alexander going in the opposite direction, but the Tshwane giants deemed it as an insult looking at the age of Alexander and also the midfielder previously played for the club when they desperately let him off the books.
Also the money Chiefs offered to SuperSport for Fleurs was deemed far too low, resulting in both managements speaking aggressively to iron the matter out.
Aware that Fluers’ head was going to prove troublesome for SuperSport this season after he asked to be sold, the club decided to sign Thulani Hlatshwayo as a free agent after he left Orlando Pirates.

However, Amakhosi have come back to express an official interest in Fleurs to sign him after the club felt he was initially tapped up by Chiefs without SuperSport’s knowledge.
SuperSport, having seen Chiefs officially approached them, are now discussing the matter with the board.
“Yes, Kaizer Chiefs have approached us about Luke Fleurs,” CEO Stan Matthews told iDiski Times at the World Football Summit in Durban’s ICC.
“Right now we will decide on the matter with the board and we will write back to Chiefs after they made me angry in the first instance.”
iDiski Times has learnt that SuperSport have punished Fleurs by not playing a lot this season due to him having grown a big head because of Chiefs approach.
Also, SuperSport have questioned his desire to leave by saying what has he done as a mark to be left behind, like winning trophies because guys like Rownen Williams, Tebogo Mokoena, Sipho Mbule and Grant Kekana have all left after winning a few trophies, which at time satisfied Matsatsantsa to let them go.
But with Fleurs, they are resigned in letting him go and the player is set to be sold either in January or at the end of the season. But SuperSport hold all the trump cards due to a a long-term contract, meaning Chiefs will have to pay to get him out the Tshwane giants.
