With Arthur Zwane now firmly in charge, Kaizer Chiefs are assessing their squad with two new signings already through the door.

Zwane, who took over on a three-year deal, has been vocal about how some players at the club are not good enough and the need to bring in quality.

One man who has been pondering his future is veteran defender Daniel Cardoso, who is set to meet the club this week for contractual discussions. Cardoso’s contract ends in June, with indications that the club will not renew his deal.

“I still have to sit down and discuss everything [contract] in the next few days. I know they are doing a big clean up, it’s been all over the media, and I’m sure everybody has seen that for quite some time already. We will wait and see; I have been there for quite some time and hope to stay on,” Cardoso said.

The 33-year-old revealed interest in his services both locally and abroad but insists he wants to stay at Naturena.

He admitted it had been a tough season but believes there is progress. He is convinced that newly appointed head coach Arthur Zwane has what it takes to turn things around at the Soweto giants.
