Cape Town Spurs defender Rushwin Dortley who was monitored by Kaizer Chiefs is on trials in Denmark with Superliga side FC Nordsjælland.

Dortley, 20, was linked with Kaizer Chiefs in recent months after impressing the club during a January training camp in Cape Town. However, things cooled down between the two side’s and it was now confirmed that he is out of the country to try his luck in the Danish Superliga.

Danish side FC Nordsjælland confirmed they have Dortley on trial currently.

“In the coming days, there will be a new face for the Superliga squad’s training session. It is 20-year-old Rushwin Dortley, who will train with us indefinitely,” the club said in a statement.

“South African Rushwin Dortley makes his mark primarily in central defence and comes from the Cape Town Spurs in his home country.”

Dortley broke through last season in the Spurs team and played a crucial role in saving them from relegation.

The highly-rated 20-year-old made his debut two seasons ago, and has already featured in 30 games for the Cape Town club, becoming a regular starter for Shaun Bartlett’s team in the last campaign.

Another young Spurs defender with high potential, Liam Bern, is also on trial in Europe currently.
