New Kaizer Chiefs strength and conditioning coach Muzi Maluleke has been hailed as one of the best in South Africa.

Maluleke, who holds a Master’s Degree in Sports Science from the University of Pretoria was one of the key figures in their incredible 2021/22 campaign which they finished second in the GladAfrica Championship and semi-finalists in the Nedbank Cup.

With AmaTuks notably playing a robust, direct style of football, Maluleke, who previously worked within the development ranks and the Varsity Football team earned the first-team call-up with calls for changes to the fitness regime needing a ‘high level of strength and endurance’.

And their notable improvements on the field of play were evident with around 90% of the injuries due to ‘contact’, further proof of his excellent work in conditioning the squad during their gruelling campaign.

“It was incredible work done by that man,” Tuks head coach Tlisane Motaung told iDiski Times. “He knows his job and he is very educated in that field of sports science.”

Maluleke has subsequently been snapped up by Chiefs ahead of the 2022/23 season with the club giving him their blessing to move on to greener pastures.
