Carnell Continues Record Start, Blom Returns

Bradley Carnell’s St. Louis City SC have continued their record start in the Major League Soccer with their fifth win, while Njabulo Blom returned to the pitch.

St. Louis beat Real Salt Lake 4-0 away from home to make it five wins in five games.

Blom, who was withdrawn from the Bafana squad due to Covid-19, returned to pitch, making an appearance in the 77th minute.

His new team became the first expansion side to win their first MLS games in a row.

They’ve now scored an incredible 15 goals and only conceded four, as their fairytale start continued.

St. Louis City are the only side with a 100% start in the MLS, with New England following in second place with 12 points, one more than Cincinnati.

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Carnell was handpicked by St. Louis Sporting Director Lutz Pfannenstiel, who himself had a brief stint with Orlando Pirates.

The German told iDiski Times that he chose Carnell over coaches from Europe, some even with UEFA Champions League experience, and so far the South African is proving he made the right choice.
