Cape Town flood victims left out in the cold

Published

on

The Mother City is getting a reprieve from heavy rain this weekend, with only light showers forecast.

But that’s cold comfort for the many people in informal settlements who are homeless after flooding earlier this week.

They say there’s been a lack of assistance from the disaster management centre and the housing department, so they’re seeking refuge at the Chris Hani community hall.

The SA Weather Service says while no heavy rain is expected over the weekend, another cold front will hit the city midweek.
