CAF Up The WAFCON Prizes
CAF have announced the prize money for the 2022 WAFCON has been increased by 150%, meaning an overall increase of almost $1.5 million.
The total prize money for the WAFCON has been increased from $975 000 to $2 400 000 – an increase of almost $1.5 million.
The winner of this year’s edition in Morocco will walk away with $500 000, an increase of 150%. In 2018 winners Nigeria received $200 000.
The prize money for runners-up has gone up from $175 000 to $300 000 while semi-finalists will receive $225 000 each, an increase of $100 000.
The tournament kicks off this evening as hosts Morocco take on Burkina Faso.
