Suspended EMPD deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi was served with his fifth arrest warrant at the Brakpan Magistrates Court on Thursday, making it his fifth arrest since April 2026.
The latest warrant was issued today, after he left the dock during his bail hearing in connection with the murder of Emmanuel Mbense.
IPID is charging Mkhwanazi over allegations that he authorised the use of blue lights on four private luxury vehicles linked to Vusimusi “Cat” Matlala.
