Mutinous soldiers have launched coordinated attacks on Niger’s presidential palace and Niamey’s international airport as heavy fighting rocks the capital.
The presidential guard reportedly repelled soldiers attempting to enter the palace, while clashes have also centred around the strategically important Air Base 101.
There is NO confirmed report that General Abdourahamane Tiani has been removed from power. The situation remains highly fluid.
