BREAKING: 13 people shot dead at a tavern in Soweto

13 people have been shot and killed at a tavern in Soweto.

Four others who are critical have been rushed to hospital.

Gauteng Police Commissioner Elias Mawela said the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning.

“Primary investigations suggest the people were enjoying themselves in the tavern,” he said.

“They just came in and shot at them randomly.”

Mawela said detectives are on the scene.

“The age range is just an estimation from my detectives to say they are between 19 and 35 years.”
