Boutouil’s Arrival At Sundowns Delayed

Mamelodi Sundowns’ new signing Abdelmounaim Boutouil will arrive in South Africa within the coming days after a slight hiccup with his visa.

The Morocco defender, 24, signed a three-year contract with a two-year option to extend in a transfer worth around R7-million from Botola Pro side SCC Mohammédia, as reported by iDiski Times last week.

While he put pen to paper last week with the South African treble champions, Boutouil’s arrival has been held up after some minor issues with his paperwork.

Within the next three two four days, he’s expected to be cleared to make the trip to OR Tambo and will mark the first Botola player to move to the Premier Soccer League.

Boutouil spent last season on loan at Raja Atheltic Club and is highly regarded in his homeland and won the African Nations Championship back in 2020.
