Bafana Bafana players to receive R1 million each for finishing third at AFCON

Bafana Bafana players will receive R1 million each after finishing third place at the African Nations Cup (Afcon) in Côte d’Ivoire.

The South African soccer team beat Democratic Republic of Congo and secured bronze medal.

The money will come from the $ 2,5m (R46.9m) the team will receive from Confederation of African Football (CAF) advancing to the semi-finals in the cup.

Bafana Bafana won the Fair Play Award and received their bronze medals in front of a packed Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara on Sunday night.

Ronwene Williams won the goalkeeper of the tournament.

South Africans celebrated the football players for the outstanding game.

Meanwhile, the winner of AFCON 2023 is Côte d’Ivoire; they beat the Super Eagles in the finals with 2 – 1.
