The agent of Al Ahly forward Luís Miquissone has provided an update on his future amid recent speculation linking him to Kaizer Chiefs and a return to Tanzania.
Miquissone, 26, was lured to Ahly by Pitso Mosimane after a standout season with Simba SC but his future has been thrown into doubt after the South African coach left the club.
A knee injury has seen him ruled out since May and despite not being on the field of play, iDiski Times has reliably been informed Young Africans SC have launched an opening bid for his services while Simba SC, Al-Merrikh and Al Hilal – who were previously interested in the player before before his move to Cairo – have enquired about his availability to the Club of the Century ahead of next season.
While Chiefs links have now emerged around the player, his representative Thato Matuka of Brand Arc Sports has categorically denied there’s been any contact or interest from Amakhosi in the Mozambique international.
“The club [Kaizer Chiefs] have not communicated with me, I have not offered him to them either, it’s a no,” Matuka confirmed iDiski Times.
“Simba have not contacted me either and Yanga it’s a no as well, we’ve not heard anything but if he leaves Al Ahly, the aim, if he leaves, is to take him North. But nobody has approached me from any of those three clubs.”
While Matuka has distanced himself from a potential Miquissone departure from the Egyptian giants, a source close to the Ahly states the player is in no rush over his future as the club or new head coach Ricardo Soares has not indicated that he’s not part of his future plans amid his injury lay-off.
Miquissone scored three goals and registered a single assist for the Red Devils in 18 games across all competitions before injury struck just a month prior to Mosimane’s surprise exit.
