Acsa says domestic travel bouncing back

Airports Company South Africa says domestic travel is bouncing back. Its airports have recovered 56% of pre-COVID-19 traffic.

Acsa says this is being driven by leisure travellers and people visiting friends and family but the regional and international segments are still lagging behind.

Meanwhile the events, government and business travel segments have been impacted the most, due to reduced travel budgets and the rise of virtual meetings.

Previously they accounted for over 50% of the traffic at Acsas’s three international airports.
