Stu’s stolen car recovered

Johannesburg-based DJ and talent manager Tsholofelo “Stu” Ntuli is breathing a sigh of relief after his stolen car was found just hours after being taken outside a nightclub in the city.

The popular DJ, who also manages stars like Vusi Nova and 047, revealed that his VW Polo TSI was stolen on Friday night while he attended an event in Marshalltown.

Stu, who co-founded Solid Sound and works with artists such as Sobxzeen, Ssips, and Busi Gold, said the incident happened within a short space of time.

“This was around 11 pm. We attended an event in downtown Johannesburg. I was with a friend. We entered the club for town work, and in less than two hours of us finishing the DJ set, the car was gone,” he told Sunday World.

He reported the theft at the Johannesburg Central Police Station after discovering that his car, along with several personal items, had been taken.

“They took the car along with an iPhone 15 Pro, a MacBook laptop, a leather backpack, a wristwatch worth R15,000, and some clothes that were in the boot because we had been travelling with the artists,” he explained.

“These were precious pieces and not just any random clothing items.”

Fortunately, the car’s tracking system led to its recovery. According to Stu, reports from the tracking company showed that the thieves abandoned the vehicle near Maponya Mall in Soweto after realizing it had a tracker installed.

“We found the car in Soweto, stripped and some of the valuables stolen; the bumper, headlights and so forth,” he said.

Despite the loss, Stu expressed gratitude that no one was harmed.

“I’m happy it was not a hijacking incident where people’s lives would have been at risk. Valuables can be replaced. We are approaching the holiday season, so we need to be extra vigilant, I guess,” he added.
