Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have discovered their opponents in the CAF Women’s Champions League after Monday evening’s draw in Abidjan.
Sundowns are heading to the CAFWCL for the third successive time, and only they and Moroccan club AS FAR have participated in every edition since the tournament’s inception.
Sundowns were the first-ever champions in 2021, but they finished runners-up to AS FAR in the 2022 edition. The COSAFA champions won all their matches in the regional qualifiers scoring 21 goals while conceding just one in Durban last month.
Sundowns were drawn in Group A alongside hosts and tournament debutants Athlético F.C. d’Abidjan and two other rookies in Moroccan side SC Casablanca and JKT Queens from Tanzania. The tournament will play from 5-19 November 2023 in the cities of San- Pedro and Korhogo.
