Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has expressed his pride to coach the Buccaneers after lifting his third trophy since joining the club.

The Spanish tactician continued his incredible cup record, winning his third domestic cup final after last year’s MTN8 and Nedbank Cup double to add another MTN8 trophy.

After the match, Riveiro was visibly pleased and relieved after a recent run of tough results that saw them drop out of the CAF Champions League.

“Just happiness, nothing else. I don’t think it’s a moment to analyse the game,” he told SuperSport TV.

“We went through a difficult period recently, so the way that these guys fought for a trophy, for the club, for the Pirates family, for our fans to try to inspire them, to try to move them, to give them hope.

“Today, they could see, if you fight, if you are together until the end, even though went through difficult moments in the game, because they are good, it’s a good team, but we managed to stay together to really fight and get the result.

“So I’m extremely proud to be Orlando Pirates coach…”

Pirates lifted their fifth MTN8 title and their 12th Super Eight trophy.
