Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane has revealed that his biggest surprise when he arrived at the club was the sheer magnitude of the club’s fans.

Mdantsane a former Chiefs player in his youth returned to Amakhosi at the start of the current season, joining from Cape Town City on a three-year deal.

He has played six matches in all competitions so far this campaign and has an assist in each competition.

The former Baroka FC man engaged with iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu and other journalists recently where he spoke about the magnitude of the club’s supporters as the big surprise for him, saying he understands why they deserve trophies and also demands that come with the Soweto giants’ jersey.

“I’d say the supporters. There are a lot of supporters, which is great for the team. In all my career at the teams I’ve been with I’ve never experienced such massive supporters,” he said.

“And obviously you can understand they are very loyal to the team and they want to win each and every time. So that’s why I’m here, to win and help the team. Obviously, one thing that’s very key to the team is to win trophies.

“It’s not easy to wear the KC jersey but you have to be strong and you have to demand more from yourself as well and try to push each and every chance you get.

“So I think it’s not that difficult but I’m strong, I’m a professional. I know what’s at stake and what I need to do”
