Al Ahly Legend Scared Of Sundowns

Al Ahly SC legend and former coach Mokhtar Mokhtar didn’t mince his words as he is worried about facing Mamelodi Sundowns in the African Football League.

The African champions were drawn against Tanzanian giants Simba SC in the AFL quarter-final.

The first leg of the clash will be in Dar es Salaam on 20 October before both teams face a week later in Cairo to decide the team that reach the semi-finals.

Mokhtar mentioned that Simba must be worried about Al Ahly, but he is worried about facing the attack-minded Sundowns in the last four.

Downs will play against Petro de Luanda in the quarter-final, should they reverse their recent ban from the Angolan FA.

“Simba are the ones who should be concerned about facing Al Ahly, but I am worried about facing South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns,” Mokhtar said, as per KingFut.

“Al Ahly are capable of beating any team in Africa, but our calculations always change before facing Sundowns.”

Masandawana hasn’t lost to Al Ahly since 2021, and they’ve won three out of the last five matches and drew two- this includes last season’s 5-2 drubbing in the Champions League group stages.
