Bafana Bafana and Burnley forward Lyle Foster scored his maiden Premier League goal against Aston Villa at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.

Lyle Foster had just moved to Burnley earlier this season and made his debut against the defending Premier League champions, Manchester City a couple of weeks ago. He was Burnley’s best player on the day.

Now, two weeks later, the 22-year-old South African is front and centre again in Burnley’s clash against Aston Villa.

With his side trailing 2-0 early in the second half, Lyle Foster scored this volley on the turn to get his team back in the contest.

A RECAP OF FOSTER’S PERFORMANCE AGAINST CITY

Foster was industrious in his work against Pep Guardiola’s champions. He completed two tackles, made five ball recoveries and won five duels. He also completed 20 passes, the most out of any Burnley player on the night.

In the final third, the 22-year-old produced arguably the Claret’s best attacking moment of the first half, beating a few men and curling his shot just wide of Ederson’s post. Foster is the 15th South African to play in the Premier League and the first since Percy Tau since 2021.
