Mayambela Keeps Shining In Europe

Bafana Bafana attacker Mihlali Mayambela keeps shining in Europe in the 2023/24 season.

Mayambela scored the only goal for Aris Limassol in a 2-1 loss against Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava. The 27-year-old recently signed a contract extension with Limassol that will see him in the club until 2026.

Limassol qualified for UEFA Champions League playoffs after winning the Cyprus Premier League last season for the first time in 92 years but they were knocked out by Polish side Raków Częstochowa.

After being knocked out of the UEFA Champions League playoffs they dropped to Europa League playoffs.

Mayambela has been on top of his game since the playoffs started as he scored once and assisted on two occasions in the Champions League playoffs and yesterday scored in the Europa League playoffs.

He has been named in the Bafana Bafana preliminary squad for the upcoming friendlies against DRC and Namibia. The final squad will announced soon as both friendlies will be played in September.
