A 27-year-old woman is currently held in custody following accusations of st@bbing her 38-year-old boyfriend, a cab driver, to death.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, August 22, at the boyfriend’s residence in Greenfields, near Esselen Park in Tembisa.
An eyewitness revealed that they heard the couple arguing about s3x before the incident unfolded. The police were alerted to the scene after receiving a complaint.
According to Captain Nelda Sekgobela, a spokesperson for the police department, officers from the Tembisa police department arrived at the residence around 3:30 a.m.
A neighbor had discovered the male victim lying in the kitchen in a pool of blood and called for help.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The police gathered that the suspect, the deceased’s girlfriend, had arrived from Soweto the previous day, and an argument between the two escalated.
Reportedly, the victim, who also owned a cab, grabbed a table knife from the kitchen drawer. The woman wrestled the knife away from him and allegedly st@bbed him in the upper body.
The woman, now in custody, is expected to appear before the Tembisa Magistrates Court this week to face a murder charge.
The cab driver had been living in a home that belonged to his late sister. Neighbors have been left devastated by the sudden loss.
One neighbor mentioned, “Because he was such a good person, none of us had any reason to believe that something bad would happen to him.”
