In 2016, media personality Tbo Touch resigned from Metro FM after 11 years with the broadcaster. He cited “principle” as the reason for his departure.

The Reason for Leaving

In a recent interview on 947’s breakfast show, Tbo Touch revealed that he left the station amicably and that there was never any bad blood between himself and the station. He explained that it was just a misunderstanding at the time and emphasized the importance of maintaining relationships.

Life After Metro FM

Tbo Touch shared that he wanted to show people that there is life after what others may perceive as their dream. He took his family on a trip to Barcelona and purchased a C605, demonstrating that his dream is not tied to a specific location or address.

Speculation About His Return

In March, rumors circulated on social media about Tbo Touch’s potential return to Metro FM. Sunday World reported that the SABC was willing to pay R480,000 per month to bring him back, but the broadcaster denied this claim. The SABC stated that their GCEO does not get involved in line-up negotiations and that they do not pay car allowances or other fringe benefits to freelancers.

Confirmation of His Return

Tbo Touch’s return to Metro FM was confirmed with the announcement of the new radio line-up. The station expressed their excitement about having him back and announced his new afternoon drive show, “The Touchdown with Tbo Touch.” The show will air weekdays from 3pm to 6pm and promises to be high energy, fast-paced, and engaging.
