Richards Bay and Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed their starting line-ups for this evening’s DStv Premiership clash at King Zwelithini Stadium.
Winless Richards Bay have the mountain Molotov to climb this afternoon when the battle with on-form Sundowns. The Natal Richboyz haven’t started the season well following two league defeats and a draw.
Kaitano Tembo’s side has been struggling as they last won an official match in January and are now winless in 18 successive games.
This fixture will be more difficult as they’ve never won or draw against Downs since they gained promotion to the elite league, with Masandawana winning all four clashes.
Meanwhile, it’s also four out of four for Sundowns in the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season, while they also booked their place in the MTN8 semi-finals after beating Moroka Swallows 1-0.
Downs are also the highest-scoring team in the league, having netted 10 goals already and conceding only two, which is twice the goals scored of second-best Pirates with five, although Downs has played one more game already.
Rulani Mokwena and his troops look to increase the points tally to 15 points and have their best start of the season in the league’s history, they are also unbeaten in all 24 league games since Mokwena became head coach and 28 DStv Premiership games overall.
