AmaZulu FC were close to completing the signing of a highly-rated midfielder from Young Africans, but in a big twist, the player ended up at another club.
Just like in the past two seasons, Usuthu have been one of the busiest clubs in the market again in this PSL transfer window. A total of 15 players have left the club while they have signed ten to make their squad solid.
It looks like they’re not done as yet. They recently welcomed the Guinea international striker Yakhouba Gnagna Barry as first reported by FARPost. The club’s president Sandile Zungu confirmed they had completed the signing with the 25-year-old.

Meanwhile, this publication has also learnt AmaZulu were almost done with the transfer of the DR Congo international Yannick Bangala from the Tanzanian giants Yanga SC.
It appears the 29-year-old had agreed on terms with the Durban-based side. However, Yanga ended up selling the player to Azam FC.
Bangala plays mainly as a defensive midfielder but can also be utilised as a centre-back. He was perhaps going to be of help in solidifying the area that was left by captain Makhehlene Makhaula.
The Kinshasa-born, Bangala is a well-traveled player having turned out for Les Stars, DC Motema Pembe and AS Vita [All DRC]. Meanwhile, outside his country, he played for FAR Rabat [Morocco] before he joined Yanga.
With Usuthu head coach Pablo Franco Martin having expressed his interest in Phumlani Ntshangase, the former Bidvest Wits man could be an option to add in the defensive midfield role.
Moreover, AmaZulu also tried a swap deal with Moroka Swallows, involving Tlakusani Mthethwa and Siphesihle Maduna. However, it collapsed when Steve Komphela decided to keep Mthethwa.
