PSL releases 2023/24 Motsepe Foundation Championship fixtures

The PSL, on Friday, 18 August, released the 2023/24 Motsepe Foundation Championship season fixtures, including the dates for the Promotional/Relegation playoffs.

The new season will start on Friday, 25 August, and the last matches of the league will be played on 19 May 2024.

This time around, there will be four new clubs in the SA second-tier league. There will be last season’s DStv Premiership relegated clubs, the duo of Maritzburg United and Marumo Gallants.

Furthermore, there are two former ABC Motsepe League sides, Orbit College and Upington City FC, who gained promotion in the Motsepe national playoffs.

2023/24 MOTSEPE FOUNDATION OPENING FIXTURES

Matchday one of the new NFD campaign will be played in three days [Friday to Sunday]. All the matches will take place at the same time, at 15:00.

La Masia will host league newcomers Upington City FC at Dobsonville Stadium. In another encounter, Pretoria Callies will welcome Venda outfit Black Leopards at TUT Stadium.

The last match of the day will be between Maritzburg United and Milford United at Harry Gwala Stadium.

On Saturday, 26 August, there will also be three matches to look out for. Hungry Lions will host the University of Pretoria at Isak Steyl Stadium.

Platinum City Rovers will kick start their campaign on the road as they will travel to newbies Orbit College FC at the Giant Stadium. Lastly, the newly branded Venda FC will lock horns with JDR Stars at Thohoyandou Stadium.

On the last day of matchday one, Baroka FC will battle it out against Magesi FC at Global Stadium.

In another game, Casric Stars, who nearly gained promotion to the Premiership, losing out in the playoffs, will take on Marumo Gallants at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.

MOTSEPE FOUNDATION WEEK 1 FIXTURES 2023/24

PSL PROMOTIONAL/RELEGATION PLAYOFF DATES CONFIRMED

The PSL further revealed that the Promotional/Relegation playoffs will begin on 2 June 2024 up until 18 June 2024.
